The programme is being delivered through a Local Action Group (LAG) comprising individuals from the community, public and private sectors, working with a wide range of community partners.
We are looking for projects which are multi-objective, distinctive, innovative, involve wide partnership working, represent good value for money and leave a lasting legacy for Western Somerset.
Funding Priorities
The overall vision for Western Somerset LARC is to work towards a low carbon economy.
For your project to be successful it must encompass how this aim will be addressed as well as fitting into one of our funding priorities. Our priorities are:
- To broaden the economic base
- To increase the value added across existing supply chains
- To reduce the amount of revenue leaving the local economy
- To establish sustainable, accessible services for the local community and tourists
- To make the best use of our natural assets
- To maximise the role of the market towns and larger villages
- To build capacity of community led initiatives and to enable grass root actions)
